So, Odds Against Tomorrow is a dystopian novel of sorts. But it's mostly about obsession. And Mitchell isn't obsessive just about disaster. He fixates on young women, first one, then another, to the point at which at least one reviewer describes the book as a love story. But it's not that. It's just a novel about obsession.
